Simple is best.

Well now, this feels wierd. Posting a blog in how long? Three months at least. For the past year and 1/2 I have never been more focused in all my life and now that I have achieved my goal I look around and realize… where do I go from here? I have fulfilled my duty (as I see it) and so I have taken these past few days off. I have hiked and lounged and ate and slept and drank and dreamed dreams of beautiful opportunity. Ive even forgotten grahmmar rules!
Now, as a workday approaches the question still remains, what to do? I took coldplay’s advice to “take it back from the start". Saturday I hiked up streaked mountain which is where June of last year I had a very frank and serious conversation with our maker. It proved to be one of the few watershead moments in life where you know you will never be the same. The contents therein are private and for mine and his thoughts only.
I also went back to another familiar place. This place, near one year after my trip up the mountain, also was the beginning of something wonderful. Such a wonderful and beautiful day was a rare gift and I have been blessed with a few this year. Saturday was one of them as well.
So many thoughts. But these are mine alone to enjoy, you look at pictures!

Hope

I found this today looking for new ways to think of old problems.

As long as we have hope,
we have direction,
the energy to move,
and the map to move by.
We have a hundred alternatives,
a thousand paths and infinity of dreams.
Hopeful, we are halfway to where we want to go;
Hopeless, we are lost forever.

I have some hiking pictures finally! Unfortunately I just moved and seem to have misplaced my cable to transfer pictures… i’ll get to finding it soon. I took some cool video of the clouds, we saw two pressure systems coming together so the clouds were swirling around in a cool way… and the squirrels were merry. Anyway, its late. bed. gnight!

fun things to think about!

I went hiking for the first time a week or so ago but Ive had a bit of a busy week (just a teeny tiny bit ha) so I haven’t gotten any pictures up. IM SORRY! Actually Im not, I love making all of you wait. If you didn’t wait how would i know you love me!! =P

I’ll get the pictures up at some point, until then i think I’ll talk about something I’ve thought of recently. Choice. Specifically the most basic and also the most fundamental choice we all have.

The first really deep meaningful question a self-aware creation should ask themselves “how did we get here?” This question has only two logical answers, chance or purpose. Did a divine being decree we should exist or are we the product of happenstance?

I must admit at this point in the conversation, I believe in intelligent design. More then that I believe in a God that loves us and wants us to know him. I must also admit that I admire atheist/evolutionists, I think it takes great faith to believe as they do.

As I sit here on my porch in the beautiful rays of a perfectly situated sun, on a perfectly situated planet with a perfectly balances environment with a mind so completely equipped to contemplate truths that hold no baring on my ability to live or procreate I wonder at the notion of spontaneous life.

Could the ancient Pyramids have evolved? Could Stonehenge have spontaneously appeared? While it is true that non-living matter does not replicate therefore removing the chance of mutation, such a happening seems far more likely to me then the idea that a precisely tuned organism such as one single cell could simply come to being. How can the complicated process of intracellular transportation be explained to simply start?

Mormons remind me of a limerick I once read…

There was an old fellow of Lyme
Who lived with three wives at one time.
When asked, ‘Why the third?’
He replied, ‘One’s absurd,
and bigamy, sir, is a crime.

Sorry, no beauteous mountain pictures yet. I have yet to hike a mountain this year, though, I have reached the summit of what once appeared an almost insurmountable crag, metaphorically speaking. This mountaintop has a most breath-taking view. No camera could capture the beauty, no pen (or keystroke in this instance) can rightly tell the immeasurable grandeur of what I now see before me. It is, in fact, what I have always seen and knew to be there. It is, in fact, what I have felt from the deepest part of myself. What seems to have taken an eternity seems now only a sliver of the smallest increment of time. Time, you see, as with so many of life’s laws, only exist in the eye of the beholder. And now… a restful nights sleep after a job well done.
